Children’s Activities
The children’s
activities provide a structured and fun way to explore potatoes through
the curriculum. Each of the four categories allows the children to
learn more about growing and eating potatoes!
The activities
provide an innovative way to plan and deliver lively lessons that will
both inform and entertain the children as they learn.
The learning resources for children are available in the following categories:
- Grow it:
These
activities provide a selection of ideas on how to grow potatoes using a
variety of methods that support the Science curriculum. These
activities encourage the children to experiment with various ways of
growing potatoes in an enjoyable way.
- Cook it:
These
activities provide a hands-on experience of using potatoes in a variety
of recipes. The recipes allow the children to create and cook their own
ideas as well as learning how to follow established recipes.
- Play it:
These
activities provide an opportunity to learn through play. Combining
cartoon and quiz style games the children can show just how much they
now know about potatoes and even learn a few other facts.
- Colour it:
These
colouring activities provide a fun way to reinforce and continue
developing the children’s understanding of potatoes. The pictures allow
the children to approach Science in a colourful and interesting way.
