Colour it

Did you know that there are different colours of potato? Do you know what colour potatoes become if exposed to the sun?

The three colouring sheets provide an opportunity to explore colour in a variety of ways. Each of the colouring sheets: Planting the Potato, Harvesting the Potato and the Potato Plant can be used to support the curriculum in innovative ways.

Here are some interesting ideas for ‘colour it’ lessons:

  • Planting the Potato: The picture shows a farmer using a tractor to plant potatoes. Can you decide which colours should go where? Create a colour code for someone else to colour the picture. For instance: 1=red 2=blue 3=green. What about creating the picture using different materials, such as fabric strips or pieces torn from magazines?
